Tildon Burns
Mr. Burns graduated from FHS in 1995 as one of the all-time greats for the Frontenac Raiders with his rare combination of size and elite speed. Tildon was one of the best football players in the entire state of Kansas as he led the Raiders to the 1994 state championship as a senior. This was the first, and only, state football championship in school history with head coach Leon Miller at the helm as they defeated Stockton 13-12 in Hays. The Raiders also took runner-up in 1992 and made it to the state semifinals in 1993.
Tildon was named Top 33 all-classes, 2-1A Player of the Year on offense as a running back, first team All-state 2-1A, and rushed for 1,800 yards on the season for the 13-0 Raiders. It is believed to be the highest rushing total in a single season for a Frontenac player.
The two-way standout was also All-state defense multiple times in his career, earning over 100 tackles in three consecutive seasons from 1992-to-1994.
Burns was also an All-state track and field athlete in the 100 meters, taking second place at state track and field in 2A as a senior in 1995. Burns played in the 1995 Kansas Shrine Bowl.
