Chris Lusker
Inducted 2025
Chris Lusker, a 1982 graduate of Frontenac High School, was one of the most dynamic three-sport athletes in Raider history. His athletic ability revealed itself long before high school—in 1974, at just ten years old, Chris set a world record on a pogo stick by completing nearly 15,000 consecutive jumps, a feat that earned him an appearance on the nationally syndicated television show What’s My Line.
At Frontenac, Chris left a lasting mark on the gridiron. As a senior, he was a standout member of the 1981–82 football team that finished 12-1 and placed second in the 2A state playoffs. He became the first player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, finishing with 1,087. His dominant play earned him numerous honors, including All-CNC First Team linebacker, All-CNC First Team running back, Topeka Capital First Team all-state linebacker, and Wichita Eagle First Team all-state running back.
Following high school, Chris continued his athletic career in baseball, competing for Labette County Community College for two seasons. He then transferred to the University of Arkansas, where he played for a Razorbacks team that compiled an impressive 51-15 record in the rugged Southwest Conference and earned a berth in the College World Series. After a short season of professional baseball in Canada, Chris hung up his cleats and closed an accomplished athletic career.
Chris went on to complete his degree at Pittsburg State University, earning a B.A. in 1988, before turning his dedication to service. He joined the United States Army, where he trained and served as an aviator. Over the next 36 and a half years, Chris distinguished himself in a remarkable military career, embodying the same discipline, leadership, and commitment that defined him as an athlete.
From record-setting feats in childhood, to breaking barriers at Frontenac, excelling on the national stage in college athletics, and ultimately serving his country with honor, Chris Lusker’s legacy is one of excellence, perseverance, and service.
