Gus Dean Dittmann

Mr. Dittmann graduated from FHS in 1949 with his senior quote reading “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy.” Gus, or GD as he was known, developed into a Broadway and Hollywood star. Dean won the Lauritz Melchior award and performed in an operatic tour of Europe. He lived out his dream in Hollywood in a recurring role on the TV Show “Cheers” and in the movie “Bachelor Party”, among many others. Dean performed for 3 U.S. Presidents, 8 times for Harry S Truman.
