Rick Simoncic

Mr. Simoncic graduated from FHS in 1982. In high school, Rick was a 1st Team All State Quarterback and Honorable Mention All State Basketball player to go along with his great career in track and field, winning a state championship in 1982 in the javelin while setting the school and state records. After high school, Rick took his talents to Pittsburg State University where he was a 2-time All-American as well as a national champion in 1986. In 1986, he set the javelin record at PSU, a mark that stood for 35 years! His mark also set a national meet record and was one of the longest marks in the world at the time. Rick is also a member of the Pittsburg State University Athletics Hall of Fame.
